How do I complete my lab tests?

At GrassRoots Functional Medicine, we make completing your lab tests a breeze. With our convenient process, you can complete many of the tests from the comfort of your home. We will send you a kit with detailed instructions, allowing you to easily collect the sample and send it back to us using a prepaid shipping envelope. When it comes to bloodwork, the process is just as simple. We will provide you with a kit and assist you in locating a local phlebotomy center to have your labs drawn. The phlebotomy center will take care of mailing off your specimen, and the lab company will promptly notify us once the results are ready. Rest assured, it’s an extremely easy process!

Will I receive comprehensive care and support even though it's a virtual program?

Yes, at GrassRoots Functional Medicine, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care for our virtual patients. Our team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nutritionists, and health coaches are dedicated to providing regular and ongoing support. You can expect to meet with a member of our team at least once a month, with more frequent meetings in the initial stages. Additionally, you have the convenience of messaging us through our portal at any time. Many of our patients in Texas continue their care with us through our Maintenance Membership long after completing their initial program. What happens after the program is complete?

Upon successfully completing the 12-month adaptation program, qualified participants will have the opportunity to become a part of our Maintenence Membership at GrassRoots Functional Medicine. This exclusive membership is tailored for individuals who have shown great commitment and compatibility with our practice. It allows you to sustain the progress you have made in terms of your health and continue towards further optimization. Join our motivated community and maintain the valuable work you have invested in your well-being. Our Maintenance Membership is currently a health investment of $219 a month.

What is the typical investment in lab testing at the first visit?

At GrassRoots Functional Medicine, we believe in taking a comprehensive approach to lab testing during your initial visit. Our aim is to uncover the missing pieces of your health puzzle, helping you to regain your vitality as quickly as possible. Typically, our patients invest between $800 and $1,600 in testing at their first visit, allowing us to gain a detailed picture of what is going on. However, the choice of testing is individualized, with some patients opting for more extensive testing and others choosing a more focused approach. Please note that testing is not included in the program fee.

Does GrassRoots Accept Insurance?

At GrassRoots, we prioritize the well-being of our patients above insurance profits, which is why we choose not to accept any form of medical insurance for consultations. After your initial consultation, we will provide you with a detailed bill, including ICD-10 diagnostic codes and CPT codes, which you can then submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. While we cannot guarantee that all costs will be covered, some of the laboratory testing we collect may be eligible for insurance coverage. Additionally, we happily accept payment through Health Savings Accounts (HSA), allowing you to conveniently use your pre-tax dollars to cover both consultation fees and lab expenses.
