I’m really excited to share that we are now offering COVID-19 antibody testing for patients AND non-patients!

This blood test tells you if you’ve already been exposed to the virus by testing for both active and previous immune responses to the bug.

It’s super valuable information because if you have already come into contact with it and recovered, you can go back to the office, out shopping, and back to doing what you love.

We’re all ready to get back to normal life as soon as possible, and antibody testing can help give you the confidence to do that!

The tests will be conducted in our New Hampshire clinic (with full social distancing best practices in place!) for our New Hampshire and Vermont community members.

And if you are in Texas, we can ship a test kit to you that you can take to a local lab company for a blood draw.

If this is something you’re interested in, just call our office at 888-644-7668!

We’ll answer any questions you may have and schedule your test.

FAQs for the COVID-19 Antibody Test

How accurate is the test?

Because the test measures levels of 3 different types of antibodies, it has been validated to provide:

  • 97.1% sensitivity (how frequently it detects the COVID-19 virus when it is known to be present)
  • 98.3% specificity (how frequently it correctly identifies the COVID-19 virus as opposed to detecting another similar virus that is not COVID-19 and reporting a false positive)

How much does the test cost?

The cost for the test is $199 plus a $20 lab fee.

Will insurance cover it?

You will need to pay out-of-pocket at the time of the test. HOWER, we will provide an itemized bill with CPT codes that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.

How does an antibody test work?

Instead of checking for the virus itself, this blood test looks for signs your immune system has mounted a response to the infection by producing immunoglobulins (or antibodies) specific to the virus.

This test looks for 3 different types of antibodies – IgG, IgM, and IgA. They each respond differently and at different times to viruses. By looking at all 3, the test picks up on early, active, and previous infections.

COVID Antibody Test

How long does it take to get results?

According to our partnering lab company, it will take approximately 3 days to receive your results after your blood draw.

Is it safe to come into the clinic for the COVID-19 antibody test?

We are dedicating one specific morning a week to COVID-19 testing and scheduling all tests in advance so there will only be one patient in the clinic at a time. This will ensure that you get in and out as quickly and smoothly as possible.

We will also require that you wear a mask for the test and our phlebotomist will be wearing a mask as well.

If you have any other questions or are ready to schedule your test, call our office at 888-644-7668!
